Year in Review: A few highlights featuring those I love most!
Celebrated my first legit Valentine's Day in Chicago
Visited the zoo with my sisters
Dated my love for a whole year and celebrated that in Kansas City
Took in a ball game with my siblings
Celebrated Jesus' rising with my nieces
and sister
Graduated from Peru State College summa cum laude
Started my career!
Began blogging and another bundle of joy was born to my brother and sister-in-law
Got engaged!
Whew, what a year!
2012 was one of the best yet, due in most part to the culmination of my love story, my engagement. I also graduated college and landed a job teaching the 1st grade, which I am beyond grateful for. I started this blog, as well, as my most favorite fashion outlet where I express my personal style and daily on-goings. Lastly, I read through the entire Bible this year which was an amazing experience that I grew to look forward to more and more each day. That is saying a lot considering my last attempt at a year long devotional looked a little something like this...
That's right, 4 years strong and still not finished! Yikes!
In 2012 I took a different route than that book I had begun, I tech-ed out and started a YouVersion plan. I read the Bible along with my plan and I accompanied it with the SOAP Bible study I learned from my pastor. To SOAP is to: Scripture (write a verse out of the passage that was memorable), Observation (figure out what happened before and after that passage), Application (how do you relate to the passage), Prayer (write out prayers). This truly added to and changed my walk with Jesus. I am diving into 2013 with this beauty...

ReplyDeleteI loved thist post, Julia! I'm not sure how I missed it before. :) I had all the same thoughs about reading through in a year...I've never actually finished but I just downloaded my YouVersion last week! I'm pumped.
